Brownsville Revival - David Ravenhill - August 8th, 1997

Today was a great day with the Lord!

Worship was amazing as usual.

Steve is now introducing David Ravenhill, Leonard Ravenhill's son.

David is speaking on the Song of Solomon and making a caparison to the relationship between us, the church and the Lord.

1. The work of God is always controversial.

"But when the Pharisees heard this, they said, "It is only by Beelzebul, the prince of demons, that this fellow drives out demons." (Matthew 12:24)

The Jews who heard these words were again divided. Many of them said, “He is demon-possessed and raving mad. Why listen to him?” (John 10:19)

2. The work of the Lord is always contested. *

3. The work of God will always produce good fruit. *

4. The work of God is always precious. *

5. The work of God is always counter balanced. *

6. The work of God is always confusing to the natural mind. *

7. The work of God is always cleansing. *

"There is nothing more likely to lead to heresy than to focus on part and not the whole.  The central theme of the Bible is God and Christ."

* I am sure David had scripture reference for all of the points and just I never wrote them down.

Sorry!
