We have so far to go - March 18th, 1998

We have not even scratched the surface.  There are so many people that have not heard of the real, living Jesus.  Not the religious Jesus that so many hear about but the same Jesus that has changed our lives.  The same Jesus that has saved us out of a life of slavery to sin.  All around the world there are people dying without ever meeting the Lord.  Although we can't talk to everyone everywhere we can tell people around us what the Lord has done in our lives.  We can learn to speak the truth.  So many people think that being a christian is summed up in a visit to a church building once a week.  It is so much more then that.  It's about real relationship with the Lord and our fellow believers.  It's about mutual edification.  It's about accountability.  It's about loving one another.  It's about going out and doing the work of the Lord.
Speaking to 800 young people in Germany
"Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.  Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” - Matthew 28:18-20

What will the Lord say to us on that day?  When a Chinese girl who by the age of 21 has lead countless thousands to the Lord, has been tortured and imprisoned stands before the Lord, I am confident she will hear; "Well done my good and faithful servant."  On the other hand, we westernized christians have a hard time opening our mouths at all.  We are afraid of what people will think of us or what people may say.

"Therefore everyone who confesses Me before men, I will also confess him before My Father who is in heaven.   "But whoever denies Me before men, I will also deny him before My Father who is in heaven. - Matthew 10:32
Not long after the revival had started I was working at a grocery store as a teller.  A husband and wife were in line and I overheard them talking to one another about their church.  I wanted to see what it would take to get the average person to tell someone about the Lord so I began questioning them about God and church.  It shocked me at how generalized their answers were and that they never once presented the gospel to me.  As far as they knew I was a lost soul just begging for the truth and if I was I would not have heard any.  I remember thinking what a the sorry state the "church" is in.  I have vowed that I would not be like those "christians".  It is always important to be open for opportunities to share the Lord with others.  Many church goers today would not know what to say if someone came up, grabbed them and asked in desperation; "What must I do to be saved?"

We can make a difference in our surroundings and the world by speaking the truth.

Lord speak through us.  Give us your heart for the lost.
